Getting Married in 2017?
Are you getting married in 2017? One of the most frequent questions we are asked is “how long before my wedding shall I buy my dress”? A lot of ladies just don’t realise that most wedding dresses take five to six months to manufacture – this added to fitting and alteration times means you should leave at least 8 – 12 months before your 2017 wedding date to purchase your wedding dress.
We have had quite a few brides recently who have just left it too late for us to be comfortable ordering in their choice of wedding dress. For these brides, we do have a selection of “off the peg” dresses and can sometimes sell you our store dress. However, if the dress is a popular one its tricky, as it leaves us without that dress on the floor whilst we await a new one being made!
On the other hand, if you shop too early you risk becoming all “dressed out” and actually falling out of love with the dress you order. We recommend 12-18 months being the sweet spot for wedding dress shopping. Leaving too much time before the wedding and you run the risk of fashions or your opinion changing.
2017 Wedding dresses
Our 2017 range of wedding dresses start arriving with us in December of 2016. We always, however, have a fabulous range of dresses on display in our Cannock showroom.
Of course, once your wedding dress is “sorted” you can move your attention to your bridesmaids, grooms and attendants outfits. We have a fabulous range of bridesmaids in-store but again, shopping early is key as these can also take six months to arrive in-store.
Our seamstresses are, as always, on hand for the perfect fit when choosing your wedding dress and bridesmaid dresses.
So to sum up, please shop early – but not too early!
